Karbook, Tripura:
With winter settling in and the TTAADC elections approaching, Tripura is witnessing a surge in political activity as parties ramp up outreach efforts. Locals humorously describe the situation as “buy one, get one free,” as winter relief and political campaigns now appear side-by-side in every corner of the state.

Not only Tipra Motha, CPI(M), and Congress, but the BJP has also accelerated its ground-level engagements. Leaders from all major parties are visiting rural areas, distributing essential winter items, and meeting voters in an effort to strengthen their political presence ahead of the election.

On Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a winter relief programme in Salka, under the 43-Karbook Assembly constituency. During the event, the party distributed blankets and traditional Rignai to local residents.

The programme was attended by Karbook Mandal President Ashim Tripura and 39-Manu MLA Mailafru Mog, who urged people to support the party in the upcoming TTAADC polls. The leaders highlighted the government’s welfare initiatives and assured continuous development in tribal and rural regions.

As the election draws closer, experts say that such outreach activities by all political parties are likely to intensify, making the winter season politically heated in Tripura.
