Violence Reported in Poyang Bari VC; Tipra Motha Candidate Allegedly Injured
An alleged attack on Tipra Motha supporters in Bhanu Para and Nij Chandra Para under Powang Bari VC Motha Candidate Tapas Chakma with a reportedly broken arm and six to seven others seriously injured. Nutan Bazar, Tripura: An alleged attack on Tipra Motha supporters was reported from Bhanu Para and Nij Chandra Para under Powang Bari Village Committee (VC), Nutan Bazar–Malbasa, during the ongoing VC election.
According to reports from party workers, a group allegedly backed by the BJP-backed Independent group attacked Tipra Motha supporters. During the incident, Tipra Motha candidate Tapas Chakma reportedly suffered a broken arm, while six to seven other supporters were also allegedly seriously injured.
Following the incident, MDC Suhoy Uchai, along with personnel from Nutan Bazar Police Station and the SDPO, reportedly reached the spot and took steps to bring the situation under control.
Tipra Motha party workers demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible and appropriate punishment within the next 24 hours. They warned that if their demand is not met, they would be compelled to launch a massive movement.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the police response and details of the injured persons remain subject to official confirmation.
