Team Doxit won the Sonali Trophy Knockout Prize Money Football Tournament 2026, defeating Auto Shramik Sangha 1–0 in the grand finale at Kulai Higher Secondary School ground in Ambassa. Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma attended the final as chief guest and highlighted the importance of sports in engaging youth and building a drug-free society. Team Doxit received ₹1.30 lakh and the championship trophy, while the runners-up received ₹70,000 and a trophy.

Ambassa: Team Doxit emerged victorious in the grand finale of the Sonali Trophy Knockout Prize Money Football Tournament 2026, defeating Auto Shramik Sangha by a solitary goal at the Kulai Higher Secondary School ground on Monday.
The much-awaited final witnessed an intense battle between the two teams, with both sides displaying strong determination and competitive football. In the end, Team Doxit secured a narrow 1–0 victory to lift the prestigious Sonali Trophy.
The final was inaugurated by Tripura Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, who attended the event as the chief guest. Among the other dignitaries present were Dhalai Zilla Parishad Chairperson Susmita Das, Ambassa MLA Chittaranjan Debbarma, Ambassa BAC Chairman Parimal Debbarma, and Joint Director of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr. Paimong Mog, along with other guests.
Speaking to the media, Minister Animesh Debbarma praised the organizers for promoting football and encouraging young people to participate in sports. He said that sports can play an important role in guiding the youth towards a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
The minister also emphasized the importance of taking young people away from harmful activities and towards the playing field. He said the state government is giving importance to sports and undertaking various initiatives to promote sporting activities among the youth.
Sonali Trophy Secretary Sushanta Ghosh said that the tournament was organized to encourage young people to take greater interest in sports and to provide opportunities for talented local footballers to demonstrate their skills.
At the prize distribution ceremony, Team Doxit received ₹1.30 lakh in cash along with the championship trophy, while Auto Shramik Sangha received ₹70,000 and the runners-up trophy.
A large crowd of football enthusiasts and local residents gathered at the Kulai school ground to watch the final. The event concluded amid a festive atmosphere, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for football in the Ambassa area.
