Rajasthan High Court Reserves Decision on Suspension of Former Mayor
The Rajasthan High Court has reserved its verdict on the third suspension of former Jaipur Heritage Mayor Munesh Gurjar in a corruption case. The court is reviewing whether due process was followed in the repeated disciplinary actions.

Jaipur, — The Rajasthan High Court has postponed its verdict on a legal petition related to the third suspension of former Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation Mayor, Munesh Gurjar, who is under investigation for alleged corruption. The hearing was presided over by Justice Anoop Dhand.
Gurjar had previously been suspended twice in 2023, and the latest action by the state government is now being challenged in court. Her legal team contended that the repeated suspensions were not backed by fresh evidence and argued that the latest order violates basic legal rights and due process.
Lawyers representing the state defended the move, citing administrative concerns and allegations of misuse of authority during Gurjar’s tenure. They emphasized that the suspension was necessary to prevent interference in the ongoing probe.
Justice Dhand acknowledged that the case involves critical questions about whether repeated suspensions are justified under existing rules. After hearing arguments from both parties, the court has decided to withhold its ruling for now, with a final order expected soon.
This case could influence how administrative suspensions are handled in the future, particularly when public officials face multiple disciplinary actions in the same matter.
