CJP Leader Ashutosh Ranka Detained in Guwahati Ahead of Volunteers’ Meet

Guwahati, Assam: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) co-convener and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, along with several party workers and volunteers, was reportedly detained by Assam Police in Guwahati on Sunday ahead of a scheduled regional volunteers’ meeting.
The meeting was planned as part of the organisation’s activities in Assam. CJP has recently been conducting campaigns highlighting the condition of government schools and other public issues. Ranka had also spoken publicly about the condition of schools in the state before his detention.
According to CJP leaders, police stopped the participants before the programme could begin and took several of them into custody. Reports said the exact number and location of all detainees were not immediately clear.
