The “Jal Jeevan Mission” in Sipai Para area under Lefunga Block, Mohanpur subdivision, has come to a complete halt. Local residents have accused the area’s pump operator of being addicted to drugs and failing to supply drinking water regularly.
Villagers said they repeatedly complained to the operator about their water problems, but no improvement was made. Despite informing local representatives and the block administration, no action has been taken.
Eventually, the frustrated residents of Sipai Para raised their voices before the media, demanding a regular water supply and strict action against the drug-addicted pump operator.
According to reports, the “Jal Jeevan Mission” in several areas of the Mohanpur subdivision has been severely affected. Locals allege that many pump operators are political appointees — either mandal leaders, relatives of politicians, or party workers — which is why the administration ignores their misconduct.
Now, all eyes are on whether the concerned department will take strict action or continue to remain silent.
