Tripura Government Launches ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana (MKBY)’ to Support Poor Families
The Tripura Government has launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana (MKBY)’, a welfare scheme offering ₹50,000 financial assistance to daughters of Antyodaya Ration Card holder families for their marriage. The initiative, announced by Tapan Kumar Das, IAS, aims to support economically weaker families in conducting dignified marriages for girls aged 18 years and above. Applications can be submitted by the girl or her guardian at the nearest CDPO office, where forms and further details are available.
Agartala, Tripura — The Government of Tripura has introduced a new welfare scheme named ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana (MKBY)’ aimed at providing financial assistance to daughters of Antyodaya Ration Card holder families for their marriage. Under this initiative, eligible beneficiaries will receive a one-time financial support of ₹50,000.
According to the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, the main objective of the scheme is to help economically weaker families ensure a dignified marriage for their daughters aged 18 years and above.
Applicants can submit their forms through the nearest Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) office. The girl herself or her guardian may apply for the assistance.
