Tipra Motha Weakens in Karbook as 6 Families with 22 Voters Join BJP
In Tripura’s 43-Karbook Assembly Constituency, the Tipra Motha party continues to lose strength as more members defect to the BJP and IPFT. Experts attribute the party’s decline to weak leadership and internal divisions based on caste and community. On Thursday, six families comprising 22 voters — including members from Tipra Motha and Congress — joined the BJP. They were welcomed by Karbook Mandal President Ashim Tripura and Secretary Abindra Reang. Observers say only time will reveal the future of Tipra Motha in Karbook.
In the 43-Karbook Assembly Constituency, the Tipra Motha party is becoming weaker day by day. A continuous wave of members leaving the party to join the BJP and IPFT has been observed. Experts say that the leadership of Tipra Motha is not strong — everyone wants to be a leader, but no one wants to be a dedicated member. Due to this internal conflict and division in the name of caste and community, it is becoming difficult for the party to sustain itself in Karbook.
On Thursday, Ashok Kumar Jamatia (3 voters), Jiten Debbarma (4 voters), Toisha Ram Reang (3 voters), Nakuljoy Reang (3 voters), Dabindra Reang (3 voters), and Khatandra Reang from the Congress party (6 voters) — a total of 6 families with 22 voters — joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
They were warmly welcomed into the BJP by Karbook Mandal President Ashim Tripura and Mandal Secretary Abindra Reang.
Now, only time will tell what the future holds for Tipra Motha in Karbook.
