She and her Class 8 daughter were beaten, leaving Anju severely injured and hospitalized. A shocking incident of violence has been reported in the Fatikroy police station area, where a housewife was brutally assaulted after protesting against liquor sales. The victim, left severely injured and bleeding, has been admitted to the hospital.

The incident took place at Ward No. 2 of Taruninagar Gram Panchayat under Fatikroy. According to local sources, Anju Majumder, wife of Haripada Majumder, protested against the rampant sale of liquor near a school in the area. Following this, alleged local liquor dealer Biplab Majumder, along with his wife Rina Majumder and their son Pankaj Majumder, attacked her.

It is alleged that they mercilessly beat Anju Majumder, threw her to the ground, and assaulted her with bamboo sticks. Reports also claim that her daughter, a Class 8 student, was beaten during the attack.

Seriously injured, Anju was first taken to Fatikroy Primary Health Centre and later shifted to Kailashahar District Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. At the time of the incident, her husband Haripada Majumder was away in Agartala working as a mason to earn a livelihood.

The incident has sparked outrage in the locality. Residents have raised serious questions as to why, even after so much time has passed, the police have not taken any action against the accused.
