Karbook’s Silent Question: Why Kishor Tripura Never Reached Out to His Own MLA
Kishor Tripura, a long-time bedridden resident of Karbook, Tripura, passed away on 11 July 2025 before he could travel to Chennai for medical treatment. Though he publicly sought financial help from ministers and other MLAs, he never reached out to his own Karbook constituency MLA, Sanjoy Manik Tripura. This has raised emotional questions among locals about Kishor's trust in his elected representative. Ministers Bishaketu Debbarma and Poul Dangshu had offered support.
Karbook, Tripura — A quiet but heavy question now lingers in the minds of Karbook constituency residents: why didn’t Kishor Tripura, bedridden for 6–7 years, ever seek help from his own MLA, Sanjoy Manik Tripura?
Kishor Tripura, known among locals for his long illness, had been confined to bed due to severe physical weakness for years. In 2023, Sanjoy Manik Tripura was elected as MLA from Karbook. Yet, in these two years, neither Kishor nor his family ever received a visit from him. And in his final days, they didn’t even ask.
On June 19, 2025, Kishor Tripura made a public appeal through social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and local TV channels, seeking financial help to travel to Chennai for medical treatment scheduled for July 12, 2025. His requests reached Ministers Suklacharan Noatia, Bishaketu Debbarma, and MLA Poul Dangshu. But conspicuously, Kishor never addressed his appeal to Sanjoy Manik Tripura, his area’s MLA.
People now wonder — did Kishor know, deep down, that help from his MLA Sanjoy Manik Tripura would never come?
On July 11, 2025, just a day before his planned trip to Chennai, Kishor Tripura passed away. Before his death, Minister Bishaketu Debbarma’s personal assistant reportedly called Kishor’s to confirm train tickets and offer financial support. MLA Poul Dangshu, too, tried to assist. But time ran out.
Instead of a journey toward healing, July 12 became Kishor’s final journey — not to Chennai, but to the burial ground. A man who asked the world for help but remained silent toward his elected representative now leaves behind a question that echoes in Karbook:
Why did Kishor Tripura never turn to MLA Sanjoy Manik Tripura? And does that silence speak louder than words?
