Another Road Accident in Khagrachhari Within Hours; Three Injured in Dighinala

Khagrachhari, Oct 12 — Road accidents continue to raise concerns in the hilly district of Khagrachhari, as two separate mishaps occurred within just a few hours on Saturday. The latest accident took place at Hazachhara area under Dighinala upazila, where a goods-laden mini truck lost control, overturned, and fell off the roadside slope. Three people travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries and were immediately taken to Dighinala Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Local residents rushed to the scene to assist in rescue operations before police arrived.

Earlier in the morning, another road accident occurred in the Alutila area, where two individuals were injured when their vehicle skidded on the slippery road. Authorities suspect that excessive speed and poor road conditions caused by recent rainfall contributed to both incidents.

The hilly terrain of Khagrachhari often becomes treacherous during the monsoon season, with frequent reports of vehicles losing control on sharp turns or muddy stretches. Local administration and transport authorities have once again urged drivers to remain cautious and avoid overspeeding, particularly on steep slopes and wet roads.
