Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on his longest diplomatic mission in over a decade, visiting five key nations across three continents between July 2 to July 9, 2025—a major step aimed at strengthening India’s engagement with the Global South.
The landmark tour includes official visits to Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil (for the 2025 BRICS Summit), and Namibia. Each stop on the itinerary marks an important step toward deepening India’s influence and partnerships in trade, energy cooperation, diplomacy, and cultural exchange.
During his visit to Ghana, PM Modi was formally honored by the Ghanaian government for his role in fostering Afro-Asian solidarity and India-Africa cooperation. In Trinidad & Tobago, he became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Parliament, delivering a powerful speech on the historical and cultural bonds between India and the Caribbean diaspora.
In Brazil, Modi is participating in the high-stakes BRICS 2025 Summit, where key issues like global economic reform, energy security, and multilateral trade frameworks are on the agenda. India is expected to play a prominent role in pushing for reform in international institutions and more representation for developing nations.
The tour will conclude in Namibia, where strategic talks are expected to focus on rare earth mineral trade, green energy collaboration, and wildlife conservation.
