In a successful anti-drug operation based on a tip-off, Ambassa Police intercepted a large consignment of cannabis on Thursday. The operation took place at the Ambassa naka point while monitoring a bike traveling from Teliamura to Ambassa.

According to the police, a Honda bike approaching the naka point was signaled to stop, but the rider attempted to flee. During the chase, the bike rider fell, and police immediately apprehended him. A search conducted on the spot led to the recovery of 13.5 kilograms of cannabis from his possession.

In a statement, Ambassa Station Officer Nandan Das said that based on secret intelligence, a youth named Tanujit Debbarma was transporting drugs on a bike. Following the tip-off, police intercepted him, conducted a search, and seized the cannabis. The arrested individual has been taken into custody.

The estimated market value of the seized drugs is over ₹2 lakh, and the police have stated that further investigations are underway to track other possible connections in the drug supply chain.
