Karbook, August 7: Traffic congestion at Karbook Market once again raised concerns on Friday after an ambulance was reportedly trapped in a traffic jam for nearly 15 minutes, between around 2:50 PM and 3:05 PM.

According to local residents, the ambulance struggled to move through the crowded market area as vehicles occupied the road. Residents also said that no police personnel were present at the spot at that time to regulate traffic or create a clear passage for the emergency vehicle.

Locals claim that traffic congestion at Karbook Market is a recurring problem, particularly on Fridays when the market becomes heavily crowded. Residents have previously appealed to the authorities to make better use of the bypass road and introduce stricter traffic management during peak market hours.

Another concern raised by the public is the movement of auto-rickshaws and TomTom vehicles inside the busy market area. According to residents, some drivers stop in the middle of the road to pick up or drop passengers, which can further slow down traffic.

The incident has once again highlighted the need for stronger traffic management in Karbook. Residents have urged the Karbook Sub-Divisional Administration and traffic authorities to deploy personnel during peak hours and take action against vehicles that obstruct the main road.

“An ambulance should never be forced to wait in traffic. Every second can be important when a patient is being taken for emergency treatment,” residents said.

The public is now demanding strict traffic regulation, proper use of the bypass road and special traffic arrangements on Fridays to ensure that ambulances and other emergency vehicles can move freely through Karbook Market.
