UPSC Recruitment & Exams July–August 2025: CMS, ESE, CAPF & Civil Services Mains Schedule Released

New Delhi, July 10, 2025 – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a series of important updates regarding its recruitment exams scheduled for July and August 2025, including Combined Medical Services (CMS), Engineering Services (ESE), Civil Services (IAS/IFS), and CAPF Assistant Commandants.

1. UPSC CMS 2025: Admit Cards Out, Exam on July 20

The Combined Medical Services (CMS) Exam 2025 will be held on Sunday, 20 July 2025. Admit cards are now available on the official UPSC portal upsc.gov.in.

• The CMS exam is conducted to recruit Medical Officers for the Central Health Services, Indian Railways Health Services, NDMC, and MCD.
• Candidates must carry a printout of the admit card and a valid photo ID to the examination center.
• Electronic devices such as mobile phones and smartwatches are strictly prohibited.

2. UPSC ESE 2025: Mains Exam on August 10

The Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025 Mains is scheduled for Sunday, 10 August 2025.

• Candidates who cleared the ESE Prelims held in February are eligible for the Mains.
• The exam consists of two conventional papers in the respective engineering disciplines (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics & Telecommunication).

ESE Recruitment Scope: Posts in Indian Railways, CPWD, MES, CWC, and other technical government services.

3. UPSC Civil Services (IAS/IFS) Mains: Starts August 22

The Civil Services Mains Examination 2025 will begin on 22 August 2025 and continue for five days.

• Candidates qualified in the Prelims held in June 2025 will appear in this stage.
• The Mains consist of 9 descriptive papers including Essay, General Studies (I–IV), Optional Subjects, and two Language Papers.

Expected Posts: Nearly 900+ vacancies including IAS, IFS, IPS, IRS, and other Group A/B Central Services.

4. UPSC CAPF AC 2025: Written Exam on August 3

The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) 2025 exam will be conducted on 3 August 2025.

• The exam includes Paper I (General Ability & Intelligence) in the morning and Paper II (Essay & Comprehension) in the afternoon.
• Successful candidates will proceed to Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Interview rounds.

Recruitment Includes: BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, and CISF Assistant Commandant roles.
