New Delhi, July 10, 2025 – The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notification for the recruitment of 1,340 Junior Engineers (JE) across various Central Government departments. Aspiring candidates with Diploma or B.Tech degrees in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering can apply online through the official website ssc.gov.in until 21 July 2025.

This year’s recruitment covers critical vacancies in departments such as the Border Roads Organization (BRO), Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Central Water Commission (CWC), Military Engineer Services (MES), and more.

Vacancy Details

The total of 1,340 JE posts is distributed among:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
    Post-wise and department-wise breakups are available on the SSC’s official portal.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university or institute.
  • Age Limit (as on 1 August 2025):
    • Maximum 30 years for most departments
    • Maximum 32 years for CPWD and CWC
    • Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-servicemen as per government norms.

Application Process

Interested candidates must:

  1. Visit ssc.gov.in
  2. Register using the One-Time Registration (OTR) system
  3. Fill in the online application
  4. Upload photograph & signature
  5. Pay the application fee
  6. Submit the final form before 21 July 2025

Application Fees

  • ₹100 – General/OBC/EWS candidates
  • No Fee – SC/ST/PwBD/Female candidates

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected through:

  • Paper-I: Computer-Based Objective Test (200 marks)
  • Paper-II: Discipline-Specific CBT (300 marks)
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Fitness Test

There is no interview.

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Level-6 (₹35,400–₹1,12,400) under the 7th Pay Commission. Including allowances, the in-hand salary is expected to be between ₹44,000 and ₹52,000 per month.
