Tripura’s Silence on Illegal Immigrants Sparks National Concern: Royal Chief Pradyot Manikya Raises Alarm
Tripura Royal Chief Pradyot Manikya ne social media par illegal Bangladeshi immigrants ko lekar bada khulaasa kiya hai. Unhone bataya ki Tripura ke Udaipur mein 0.22 acre zameen ek Bangladeshi nagrik ke naam allot hui hai. Yeh kanoon ke khilaf hai, lekin rajya sarkar chup hai. Yeh mamla sirf Tripura nahi, balki poore Bharat ke liye khatra hai. Logon se appeal ki gayi hai ki woh illegal immigrant ke khilaf zor se aawaz uthayein.
Once again, a deeply disturbing situation has emerged from Northeast India’s Tripura state. While the rest of India is actively combating the issue of illegal immigrants, especially from Bangladesh, Tripura's state government is allegedly silent — even accused of working against the national interest by shielding Bangladeshi illegal immigrants.
The matter came to light after Tripura Royal Chief Pradyot Bikram Manikya made a powerful post on social media. He shared shocking details:
“Land allotment under question is from Udaipur Sub-Division of Tripura and the total land area is 0.22 acres. How was land allotted to a foreign national whose address is clearly shown as Bangladesh? How can a non-Scheduled Tribe (ST) individual be allotted or allowed to buy land in a 6th Schedule area under the jurisdiction of the TTAADC?”
According to Pradyot Manikya, this Bangladeshi individual and his family acquired official Indian land documents and then disappeared. With these documents, it would have been easy for them to obtain Indian identity proofs like a passport, PAN card, Aadhaar, or voter ID.
He further alleged that officers such as the then Deputy Collector Magistrate (DCM), Revenue Officer, and Tehsildar are directly involved, hinting at political protection behind this illegal act.
“If such an incident had taken place in mainland India, it would have triggered nationwide outrage. But because it’s happening in Tripura, in the Northeast, silence prevails,” Pradyot Manikya added.
He thanked Purna Chandra Jamatia, CEM of TTAADC, for providing him with the land documents, calling him a "Tiprasa warrior."
This revelation has raised serious alarm bells not just in Tripura but across India. Experts warn that if such land allotment and identity frauds continue unchecked, Tripura could soon be completely overrun by illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. From Tripura, these illegal immigrants can easily spread to other Indian states, changing the demography and creating national security concerns.
Many citizens are now demanding strict central government intervention.
“The Tripura state government has been denying the central government year after year on the issue of illegal immigrants. If no special action is taken now, the entire Northeast could be at risk,” a local activist said.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) is also being called upon to take urgent action and investigate how foreign nationals are receiving Indian identity proofs illegally.
This is not just a local Tripura issue — this is a national issue. All Indians are urged to raise their voice strongly and fearlessly about the illegal immigrant problem in Tripura before it is too late.
If Tripura is lost, experts warn, it will be a silent invasion not just of land but of India's identity and sovereignty. The people of Tripura and the Northeast are waiting to see if the rest of India will stand with them in this fight for justice and protection.
