Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma Requests Meghalaya DGP for Security Cover for David Murasing’s Pedal Delhi Abhiyan
Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma has formally written to Meghalaya’s DGP requesting security cover for David Murasing during his Pedal Delhi Abhiyan, as Murasing enters Meghalaya’s East Jayantiya Hills district.

In view of Tipra Motha leader David Murasing continuing his 2,500 km-long Pedal Delhi Abhiyan without any formal security arrangement, Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma has officially written to the Director General of Police (DGP), Meghalaya, requesting adequate security coverage for David Murasing as he passes through Meghalaya.
In the formal letter addressed to the DGP, Government of Meghalaya, MLA Ranjit Debbarma stated:
"With due respect, it is to inform you that Sri David Murasing started a Pedal Yatra on 05.07.2025 from Tripura State to arrive at Delhi covering a distance of 2500 (Two Thousand Five Hundred Kilometres). The said person now arrived at Sonapur under East Jayantiya Hills District of Meghalaya State. Under the above, I do hereby place a request to provide adequate security coverage to Sri David Murasing during his Pedal Yatra at Meghalaya State."
According to Tipra Motha sources, David Murasing entered Sonapur area under East Jayantiya Hills District recently, moving further toward his Delhi mission. Party members expressed concern for his safety, citing increasing public attention and potential risks.
MLA Debbarma confirmed to local media that the letter was sent out of responsibility and concern:
“David Murasing is not only representing our political cause but also undertaking a peaceful march which deserves security and protection from local authorities,” he said.
As of now, there has been no official response from Meghalaya Police, but local sources suggest the matter is under active review.
