Public Anger Grows Over Dilapidated Road in Kamalasagar; Residents Seek Government Action
Public Demands Government Intervention: With Durga Puja approaching, residents have appealed to the media and state authorities for urgent road repairs, transparency in public spending and an investigation into the allegations.
Kamalasagar, Tripura: Growing public frustration over a deteriorating road connecting Dhanchhari and Nehal Chandanagar has prompted residents to seek media attention and demand government intervention ahead of Sharadiya Durga Puja.
Residents allege that the road has remained in a deplorable condition for several years, making daily transportation difficult. They claim that a repair tender worth approximately ₹1.5 crore was issued, but the promised development has yet to meet their expectations.
The situation has sparked allegations of financial misappropriation against Kamalasagar MLA Antara Sarkar Deb and her associates. These accusations remain allegations and require verification by the appropriate authorities.
On Sunday afternoon, local residents reportedly started repairing the road themselves, citing the urgent need to improve connectivity before the extended Durga Puja celebrations.
The residents have appealed to the media to highlight their concerns and questioned whether the state government will intervene to resolve the issue.
They are demanding accountability, clarity regarding the tender and immediate steps to restore the road. Any decision on possible wrongdoing would depend on an official examination of the project's records and the facts surrounding the allegations.
