Kamalpur, Tripura: Residents of Kamalpur are expected to benefit from an additional emergency medical transport facility following the handover of a new ambulance worth ₹14,43,779 to Bimal Singh Memorial Hospital.

The ambulance was provided through the Local Area Development Fund of Kamalpur MLA Manoj Kanti Deb and formally handed over at a programme held at Kamalpur Town Hall. The event was organised by the Kamalpur Sub-Divisional Administration in collaboration with Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat.

MLA Manoj Kanti Deb led the handover ceremony, which was attended by Nagar Panchayat Chairman Prashanta Sinha, Vice-Chairman Subrata Majumder, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer Shubhashis De, Deputy Executive Officer-cum-DCM Aditi Das, and other local representatives.

The new ambulance is intended to support emergency healthcare needs, particularly when patients require immediate transportation to medical facilities. In cases involving serious illness, accidents or other medical emergencies, timely transportation can be critical.

The addition is expected to strengthen the hospital's patient transportation capacity and improve access to emergency medical services for people in the Kamalpur subdivision.

However, the long-term benefit of the initiative will depend on the ambulance being kept operational, staffed appropriately and made accessible to patients whenever emergencies arise.

The new vehicle represents an encouraging addition to local healthcare infrastructure, with residents hoping it will help ensure faster medical assistance during critical moments.
