Narcotics Worth Nearly ₹9.70 Lakh Recovered from Unattended Location in Sonamura

Sonamura Police have launched an investigation after recovering 70 bottles of Eskuf syrup and 18 kg of dry cannabis from the border-road areas of Srimantapur, Tarapukur and UNC Nagar. No person was found at the spot in connection with the seized items.

SONAMURA: A police patrol operation in the border areas under Sonamura Police Station has led to the recovery of suspected narcotic substances valued at around ₹9.70 lakh.

Police reportedly recovered 70 bottles of Eskuf syrup along with 18 kg of dry cannabis while conducting patrols along the roads connecting Srimantapur, Tarapukur and UNC Nagar.

The substances were found unattended, and no suspect was reportedly present at the location when police arrived. Following the required legal formalities, the materials were seized.

Authorities are now investigating the source of the narcotics and attempting to establish who was responsible for transporting or storing them.

Police are also examining possible links to a wider trafficking network as part of the ongoing investigation.
