AGARTALA: A series of public-service activities are being organised by the BJP in Tripura under the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, launched to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
As part of the initiative, BJP workers and local representatives organised a tree plantation programme at Ward No. 31 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation on Sunday.
The programme was conducted in line with the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, with participants emphasising environmental conservation and the need to expand green spaces for a healthier future.
A cleanliness campaign was subsequently held at the Sri Sri Chhinnamasta Kali Temple, located near the ward office. Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee participated in the cleanliness activity and helped clean the temple premises.
The organisers said the initiatives were intended not only to improve the local environment but also to encourage residents to adopt greater responsibility towards cleanliness and environmental protection.
Local Corporator Anjana Das, Mandal President Arindam Chowdhury and other BJP leaders and workers attended the programme.
