Pradyot to Approach Election Commission with Tipra Motha Leaders’ Signatures, Seeks Action on Illegal Immigration in Northeast
Tripura royal scion and Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Debbarma is preparing to visit the Election Commission of India. He will be accompanied by signatures from all Tipra Motha MLAs and MDCs. Their primary demand is to initiate action against illegal immigration in Tripura and the entire Northeast region.
Tipra Motha chief and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma is set to visit the Election Commission of India (ECI) in New Delhi soon, accompanied by a delegation of party leaders. According to party sources, Pradyot will submit a memorandum along with signatures from all Tipra Motha MLAs and MDCs, pressing for strict measures against illegal immigration in Tripura and the broader Northeast region.
The party claims that unchecked illegal immigration has significantly altered the demographic balance in several northeastern states, including Tripura. Pradyot has consistently raised this issue in various forums and is now taking it directly to the country’s top electoral authority.
“This is about safeguarding the rights and identity of the indigenous people of Tripura and the Northeast,” a Tipra Motha spokesperson said.
The exact date of the delegation’s meeting with ECI officials is expected to be announced shortly. Political observers believe this move aligns with Tipra Motha’s broader push for constitutional safeguards for Tripura’s indigenous communities.
