Sonamura, Oct 13: A major recovery was made near the India–Bangladesh border when a large number of unclaimed mobile phones were found close to the border fence in the UNC Nagar area of Sonamura.

During a routine patrol, personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) discovered a sealed box containing 150 new, unpacked mobile phones of various brands beside the barbed wire fence. The BSF jawans immediately seized the consignment and handed it over to the Sonamura police.

Following due legal formalities, the police have officially confiscated the mobile phones as unclaimed property. An investigation has been launched to trace the ownership and origin of the seized items.
