Teliamura: Tensions have flared across the Krishnapur Assembly constituency following explosive allegations surrounding the sexual assault of a 14-year-old minor. Acting swiftly on the matter, the Teliamura Police have arrested the primary accused, identified as Satyam Seal.
According to police sources, immediate action was initiated as soon as Case No. 54/2026 was registered at the Teliamura Police Station. The accused has been booked under stringent legal provisions, including Section 65(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 4(2) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Following the registration of the case, a police team raided the residence of Satyam Seal and took him into custody.
The incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, September 19, when the victim's parents were away from home due to a personal engagement. Finding the minor girl outside her house, the accused reportedly dragged her to an adjacent elevated hillock (tilla) area and sexually assaulted her.
Although the minor did not immediately disclose the ordeal to her family on Saturday, she experienced severe physical discomfort by Sunday, September 20, and confided in her mother. Shocked by the revelations, the family approached the Teliamura Police Station without delay on Sunday afternoon to register a formal complaint, leading to the filing of the FIR.
