The Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has issued a summons to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar in connection with the ongoing investigation into the National Herald case. The notice, dated November 29, directs Shivakumar to appear before investigators or submit detailed financial documents by December 19.

According to officials, the EOW is seeking clarity on alleged financial transactions linked to Young Indian, the company associated with the National Herald newspaper. Shivakumar has been asked to provide bank statements, records of donations or transfers, and communication related to the funds in question.

Shivakumar, responding to the notice, called the action “harassment” and claimed he had already supplied all necessary information to central agencies in past inquiries. He insisted the transactions were transparent and belonged to his party, stating there was “nothing to hide.”

The summons comes amid a wider probe into financial irregularities involving Young Indian and Associated Journals Limited. Investigators have recently expanded the scope of the inquiry by questioning additional political leaders connected to the alleged transactions.

With the deadline approaching, all eyes are now on how the Deputy Chief Minister responds to the EOW’s demands, as the case continues to generate political tension both in Karnataka and New Delhi.
