Lichubagan Pond Death: Man’s Body Recovered, Police Begin Probe
A man reportedly drowned while bathing in a pond in Agartala’s Lichubagan area. Police recovered the body with help from local residents and sent it for post-mortem examination.

AGARTALA: A man died in a suspected drowning incident at a pond near Dashami Ghat in the Ghoshpara area of Lichubagan on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Rupak Pal. Local residents said that he had reportedly entered the pond to take a bath and may have drowned accidentally.
After the incident came to light, locals began searching the pond and alerted the police. A police team arrived at the location and, with the help of local residents, recovered the body.
The body was subsequently taken for further legal procedures and reportedly sent for post-mortem examination.
Police are investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances and cause of death. Although drowning is suspected at this stage, the final cause will be established after the investigation and post-mortem examination.
The incident has caused grief among residents of the Lichubagan area.
