Their triumph not only showcases their individual talent and hard work but also puts Tripura on the map in the world of combat sports.

In a proud moment for Tripura, six talented martial artists from the state made their mark at the International K-1 Kickboxing Championship 2025 Kalkata, showcasing outstanding skill and determination on the global stage.

Amir Debbarma, brought immense pride to his community by winning a gold medal and the prestigious title belt. Alongside him, Manish Datta also claimed gold and a title belt, making it a double victory for the Northeast State Tripura.

The team of six fighters from Tripura, trained under the guidance of coach Chandra Kanta Debbarma, returned with the following accolades:

 Amir Debbarma – Gold Medal with Title Belt

 Manish Datta – Gold Medal with Title Belt

 Ribel Debbarma – Silver Medal

 Sandi Debbarma – Silver Medal

 Saimon Debbarma – Silver Medal

  Saijak Debbarma – Runner-up
in Kok Elimination Series-3, 2025

Coach Chandra Kanta Debbarma expressed pride in his students, highlighting their discipline, dedication, and relentless training leading up to the international event.

This remarkable achievement not only brings recognition to the individual athletes but also showcases the growing strength of martial arts in the northeastern region of India, especially in Tripura.

“We fought not just for medals, but to represent our land and prove that even from remote corners like Langkapura, champions can rise,” said Amir Debbarma after his victory.
