Dismissed Teacher Arrested for Allegedly Killing Wife in Bishramganj
A shocking incident in Vivekananda Palli, Rajkumar Para, Sipahijala district, has shaken the community after police arrested dismissed teacher Rahul Debbarma on charges of murdering his wife, Rekha Debbarma. Rekha’s body was found in their home, prompting immediate police action. Authorities, including SP Vijay Debbarma, Additional SP Rajib Sutradhar, and OC Ajit Debbarma, reached the spot with TSR personnel. Family members allege Rahul deliberately killed his wife due to his extramarital affair, which caused frequent disputes. The couple’s 12-year-old son, Ankit, studying at Takarjal Navodaya School, has been left devastated. Police have assured a thorough investigation.

Bishramganj police have arrested a dismissed teacher on charges of murdering his wife, sparking shock and outrage in Sipahijala district.
The incident took place at Vivekananda Palli, Rajkumar Para, where the body of Rekha Debbarma, wife of dismissed teacher Rahul Debbarma, was mysteriously recovered from their home. Police immediately detained Rahul Debbarma, suspecting his involvement in his wife’s death.
Upon receiving information, Sipahijala District Superintendent of Police Vijay Debbarma, Additional SP Rajib Sutradhar, Bishramganj Police Station OC Ajit Debbarma, and TSR personnel rushed to the scene. The body was later taken down and shifted to Bishramganj Primary Health Centre for autopsy. Following the post-mortem, Rekha Debbarma’s body will be handed over to her family.
The victim’s family has accused Rahul of deliberately murdering his wife. According to sources, Rahul allegedly had an extramarital affair, which often led to heated disputes between the couple.
Rekha and Rahul have a 12-year-old son, Ankit Debbarma, who is currently studying at Takarjal Navodaya School. The tragic incident has left the family devastated and the entire locality in deep shock.
Speaking to the media, SP Vijay Debbarma confirmed the details of the case and assured that an investigation is underway to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death.
